Pembs Earlies LabelThe launch took place today (Wednesday, May 7th) of the first crop of Pembrokeshire Early Potatoes to be protected by European law.

Under the European Union’s protected food name (PFN) scheme certain food and drink products receive Europe-wide legal protection against imitation and misuse in recognition of their distinctiveness, quality and provenance.

Pembs Earlies LabelThe famous Pembrokeshire Early Potato has joined the ranks of Champagne, Parma Ham and Melton Mowbray Pork Pies by being awarded protected food name status by the European Commission.

From today (December 4th) the Pembrokeshire Earlies/Pembrokeshire Early Potatoes names are protected by the European Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status, which is one of three special European Protected Food Name (PFN) designations.

BLAS Y TIR GIVES YOUNG PLAYERS A TASTE OF RUGBY STARDOM

Four 14 year-old boys from West Wales have seen their sporting dreams become reality thanks to a kicking master class with the Welsh rugby squad, courtesy of Puffin Produce Ltd’s Blas Y Tir brand.

The four young rugby players – who play in the outside half position for Pembrokeshire’s County School U15 Team – were chosen by Haverfordwest based Puffin to take part in the kicking master class at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium as part of Wales star Ryan Jones’ testimonial year programme.
