Internationally renowned young cellist and conductor, Steffan Morris, is returning home to Neath to conduct a concert in aid of the St David’s Church Tower Appeal (Friday, August 30th).
Twenty-one year-old Steffan, who is currently studying in Vienna with Professor Heinrich Schiff, has won many musical prizes, including Texaco Young Musician of Wales and Gregynog Young Musician of Great Britain.
A former pupil at the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School, Steffan also attended Ysgol Gymraeg Castell-Nedd and Ysgol Gyfyn Ystalyfera.
The concert with Neath Sinfonietta will feature Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony and Brahms’ Violin Concerto with international soloist Ben Baker.

About the St David’s Church Tower Restoration Appeal
A Grade 2 listed building, built in 1866 in the Victorian gothic style, St David’s Church is an iconic landmark in the town of Neath.
The St David’s Church Tower Restoration Appeal was launched in May 2013 in response to the need to raise £500,000 for essential repairs to the tower and roof above the choir stalls.
